The Bollywood actor Dia Mirza has been campaigning for the environment from long back. She has advocated against the use of single-use plastic.
Dia Mirza has been appointed as the ambassador of the UN Goodwill for India last year. Today, she is going to speak on the theme of Reimagining Our Planet – Building Back Better at the ET SDG Summit 2020.
Dia will be speaking at 6 PM on the importance of The Sustainable Development Goals. In this, she will be explaining how each and everyone will adopt them.
What are the Sustainable Development Goals?
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are also known as Global Goals which were adopted by the United Nations Member States in 2015. This is adopted for the peace and prosperity for all life on Earth by 2030.
Dia Mirza said that this goal offers solutions to the existential crisis that we are confronted by. Climate Change is already having a significant effect on health, education, jobs, gender equality, peace, and conflict.
